This is your first step toward developing a calmer, more obedient dog - no matter their age, whether an unruly older puppy, teenager or adult dog, we can provide a fresh start. It's also the perfect place to start with a newly arrived rescue dog, to simplify life for the long term. Our in-depth assessment & first dog training session is designed to address the specific training challenges you may be facing in the house, out in parks or on roads — from unreliable recall to lead pulling and setting consistent household boundaries. *In aggression cases, please see our Behaviourist page to book a Consultation with Chris, as a different process involving vet referral is required.* The Assessment & First Dog Training session goes beyond surface-level fixes. We take the time to understand your dog’s behaviour, your lifestyle, and your training goals, allowing us to create a tailored action plan that works for both you and your canine companion. More than just an assessment, training begins straight away. We’ll diagnose key problem areas, provide immediate, practical solutions, and outline how many sessions we expect you’ll need to meet your goals. A structured walk is included to observe your dog’s behaviour in a real-world context and apply relevant training techniques. * Assessment of key training challenges * Immediate training to begin addressing issues * Guidance on recall, loose-lead walking, and impulse control * Strategies for managing timidness * Support in setting household rules and structure * A calm, supportive approach from experienced professionals This assessment allows us to get to know your dog (or dogs — no extra charge for multi-pet households), understand your challenges, and align on your goals. The session lasts approximately 90 minutes and can be held either in your home or at one of our private training locations. At the end of the session, we’ll recommend the best next steps — whether that’s continuing with one-off follow ups, regular sessions, or exploring our Group Class options. Our flexible training packages ensure you’ll find the perfect fit for your needs.
